When you look through the CFU course catalog or browse on our website, you’ll see Level classes as well as Conversation classes. It can be a bit confusing. The Level classes (Spanish 1, Spanish 2, Spanish 3, etc.) teach grammar and vocabulary. The Conversation classes consolidate your mastery of the grammar and vocabulary you have learned and to give you more practice speaking. The CFU program is all about getting you speaking Spanish, so you’ll be speaking in all of the classes, but the conversation classes are where you start getting more comfortable.
The suggested rhythm for your progression through the program is to take the 2 classes at each Level (or an accelerated class that covers the 2 more quickly) a and then a Conversation class. Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 comprise the first Level classes and Conversation 1 follows those 2 classes.
