We here at CFU have just learned that our wonderful German teacher, Frank Sitchler, passed away peacefully on Thursday. His son, Evan, let us know that a memorial service will be Friday, December 7th at 1pm at First Universalist Church of Denver at 4101 E. Hampden Ave. in Denver where Frank was an active member.
Frank was not only an exceptional teacher, he had also been part of the CFU team for years, delivering our catalogs to racks and boxes throughout Denver. Never without a great story, a corny joke or two, a warm and embracing laugh, and lots of good ideas, Frank was dearly loved here at CFU.
Students who took his German class described Frank as “a charming man” who was “very patient,” “knowledgeable and fun.” He was “friendly, energetic, enthusiastic, [and] warm.” “He made the class fun with singing and other fun activities.” “Frank really cared about us as a group and always made sure we understood everything.”
The CFU family will miss Frank terribly. We take comfort in the example he set of someone who lived life with gusto and heart, right up until the very end.
