POLICIES

Membership:

CFU has a membership program. Membership is not required to enroll in classes, however you must pay non-member tuitions if you choose not to purchase a membership. Non-member tuitions are higher than member tuitions in most cases.

$20 Individual Membership: Member tuition for classes and special events for 12 months. Option to join Space Age Federal Credit Union, 303-369-7666. For other benefits ask your student services representative or visit our website.

$50 Family Membership: Same as the Individual for up to four people.

$50 Corporate Membership: Companies can apply for a corporate billing account and employees can receive member benefits.

You may register by phone with a Visa, MasterCard or Discover. Please have the following information ready when you call:

• Course number or class title and beginning date
• Name and address
• Credit card number and expiration date

Hours for phone registration:
Monday-Thursday, 8:30am to 7:30pm
Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm
Saturday, 8:30am to 1:00pm

BY MAIL: Print out the provided registration form. Complete the registration form and make a check or money order payable to "CFU". Please note: There is a $25 service fee charged for each returned check.

BY WALK IN: Our main office is located at 7653 East 1st Place, Denver, CO 80230 in Lowry. Our office hours at Lowry are:
8:30am to  5:00pm Monday-Friday
8:30am to 1:00pm Saturdays
Closed Sunday

We also have a satellite office located at 2325 East Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80206 (Colfax & Josephine). Our hours at our Colfax office are:
2:30pm to  7:30pm Monday-Thursday

ONLINE: Complete and send the provided online registration form on our secure server. You should receive an immediate, preliminary confirmation of your request by email, and an official class ticket within two to three business days. If the first session of the class you wish to attend is to occur within the next 48 hours, please call the registration office at 303-399-0093 in order to confirm availability and to register. Also, please know the class number for registration purposes.

• Bring your registration confirmation ticket/number to class.
• To use our membership benefits, advance registration is required.

Class Credits & Transfers: If you cannot attend a class you must contact the registration office at least 72 hours prior to your first class meeting. With 72 hours notice we can:

• Transfer you to another available class. There will be a $7 transaction fee for dropping the original class

•  Create a class credit voucher that you can use toward a future class. The voucher is good for one year from date of issue and cannot be redeemed for cash. A $7 transaction fee will be charged for the dropped class, reducing your total credit voucher by $7. 

With less than 72 hours notice a credit voucher for half of the class's tuition will be issued to your CFU account. (Ask about specific policies for Spanish and CompuSkills.)

Refunds & Check Fees: Refunds are given if  CFU cancels a class. If you cannot receive phone messages, always call 24 hours in advance to make sure your class is running. Tuition and fees are subject to change. A service fee of $25 will be charged for each returned check.

Inclement Weather: Free U rarely cancels class for weather. Only if the city shuts down do we shut down. If the buses are running, we're most likely open. Call 303-399-0093 for a "go/no go" update. If cancelled, classes will be rescheduled or vouchers for other classes will be issued.

Instructors come from the community and are experts in their fields; however, they are not required to have teaching credentials. CFU strives for quality but cannot be held liable for the content taught by instructors who function as independent contractors.
