Beginning Acting and Scene Study
Playing a role on stage is a richly rewarding and creative experience. Rehearsing and performing scenes with fellow actors develops trust, creates an artistic bond, and builds overall self-confidence and presence in front of a group. This workshop is for those with little to no acting experience, as well as those who haven’t been on stage in some time. Learn how to bring a character to life and work on scenes and monologues. Currently an instructor in Theater at CU Denver,
Eileen Kearney, PhD has had a multi-faceted, 23-year career as a college theater professor, director, performer, writer, and theater generalist. She knows theater from every angle and loves to help budding performers develop. She creates a mutually supportive environment for exploration, introduces creative exercises, and coaches your scene work in class. The final night of class celebrates your growth as you perform scenes for your invited guests!
